Create bingo game

Set up your own bingo game with unique content options! Add any combination of text, image and audio, launch the game and have fun!

The bingo game maker

The bingo game maker allows you to set up your bingo game in any creative way you like. You can activate the basic bingo, with just numbers or you can make it more challenging and educational by adding in (thematic) content next to the numbers.

Each run of the game allows players to register with as little info as possible to keep things easy and privacy-friendly.

Setting up your first bingo game

Add some content (at least 4 bingo cards) via the Start-tab, hit the 'Save puzzle' button and go to your Settings-tab. From there you can open the 'Control room' which controls the flow of your bingo game.

The bingo game will only be available for players once you 'open the registrations'. You see the registrations roll-in from your control room.

And once you start the game, the bingo will not accept new players since it would be odd for players to late-join and having missing certain numbers/content.

Controlling the bingo flow

During the bingo game, you can alternate between the manual control of the game (default) or the automated version.

The automated version allows you to set an interval at which the new bingo number/content is drawn. If you stick with the manual controls, you can do whatever you like. Do note that players will be waiting for you to draw the next card! :-)

Calling 'BINGO' :-)

The most interesting part about the bingo game, is of course where you as the player have the opportunity to claim 'BINGO' once you complete a given goal.

Since a funny part of bingo is the fact that people can call out 'false bingo's', this is something that had to be included in this virtual bingo game maker as well.

Players that claim bingo are shown in your live control room with the connected 'win condition', their own input on their card, and the realistic version of the card, which only shows the crossed off content that was really drawn.

You can approve or reject the claim, and when rejecting the bingo, it can result in a time out for the player. This will prevent players from spamming false bingo's as well.

Creating challenging/educational bingo

An unique and awesome way to make your bingo game a lot more fun and educational, is by changing the 'Type' setting to 'Descriptions' on the Premium-tab.

This way, players will not see the direct number/answer connected to the given bingo draw, but just a description. The player will then have to think if one of their answers/numbers on the card matches the given description since this is not automatically crossed off.

Imagine using this in combination with the 'False bingo' logic that is included. Loads of fun, since you as the bingo game owner will be able to see what kind of false bingo's are being called, compared to what has been drawn. This will give you insight into what sort of wrong answers players give, but in a very user-friendly and fun way.

Bingo, the old-school way

Want the regular, old-school bingo with just the numbers? No problem! This is not the default though since Puzzel.org puzzles and games in the basis rely on content inputted by the user.

To activate this number-style of bingo, change the 'Type'-setting on the Premium-tab to 'Only Numbers'

Choosing your own card size

Depending on your needs, you can pick any card size you like. This is applicable in all sorts of ways.

On the Settings-tab, you can pick your own rows and numbers, which will determine the number of items the players will have to cross off.

On the Premium-tab, you can also pick the 'Use own card size' option to determine the size of each individual item in terms of width and height.

Picking the registration fields

Since bingo should be able to be played in educational as well as competitive as corporate settings (since it is just fun for everyone!), the registration should be very customisable.

Players will never need an account and only have to fill in the fields that you have enabled. This data will never be used outside of the bingo game itself.

Adding an indication number

If you want to make communication about the bingo game content more straightforward, you can enable 'Show numbers on cards' via the Premium-tab

This way, numbers will be added to each individual content item which allows you to reference it with more ease. It can also help make the game easier for younger players.

Enable the registration of false bingo's

Tracking false bingo's is mostly interesting for educational purposes in combination with the 'Descriptions' Bingo-type. Both can be activated on the Premium-tab.

Since the tracking will show what the player thought was called by the bingo caller and the realistic version of his/her bingo card, you can see the difference as the teacher and gain insight into the type of misjudgement that was made.

The false bingo registration also gives you the option of adding a 'time out' on each false bingo, forcing players to wait before they can call out another bingo. This can prevent spamming and forces players to think more.

Judging the bingo-claim

As the bingo game owner, you will see each bingo claim coming in while spinning the bingo wheel. As long as a fresh claim is active, you cannot continue drawing new bingo cards since the claim deserves attention.

You can easily judge the claim by looking at the grids filled with the content of the player. This will make it easy for you to check, since the win condition, player input and reality fields together will give you a direct view of the validity of the bingo claim.

Automating this can also be done though, via the 'Automatically judge bingo claims' setting on the Premium-tab :)

Designing your win conditions

One of the very cool features of the bingo game maker, is the way of designing your own win conditions. You start off with the 'Full card' template by default, but this can be extended via the Premium-tab > Win conditions > Configure button

You can pick win conditions from some predefined templates, or you can handpick each cell that you would like to add to the active win condition. Easy as that, and fully customisable to your needs.

Adding prizes for the player

Since traditional bingo is all about winning prizes, this is built-in into the Premium version of the bingo game maker as well! On the Premium-tab enable 'Use prizes' and from there you can connect them to your win conditions.

The players will see what they are playing for and what they need to tick off before having a valid chance of winning the prize.

Do note that multiple simultaneous bingo's can occur, so adding prizes can result in multiple winners as well. Just like in the regular offline bingo game.

The bingo spinning wheel

To keep the bingo game accessible and clear, the spinning wheel is nothing too fancy, but it does scroll through possible content and selects a random item at the end.

Interesting to note is that the bingo spinning wheel is shown on the player-side as well, so each player will always know what cards/numbers were drawn even without access to a generic main screen like in traditional bingo.

Sending messages to the bingo players

Communicating with your bingo players can be done via the control room as well. This way you can congratulate players on their 'BINGO' or create some casual small talk in between draws.

Switching your editor interface

Depending on where you are in the bingo design process, you might want to check up on either the display of a random bingo player card (so the grid with the x number of rows and x number of columns), or if you've enabled 'Descriptions' as the Premium-type of the Bingo, then you would perhaps like to see how they look on a content card as well.

In the editor, on the top-right of the preview you will find the icons to toggle/switch to these modes and see your content as it would show up to the bingo players.
