Animals from A to Z
An animal for every letter of the alphabet, answered round a ring against the clock. Pass a letter and it comes back on the next lap; the animals nobody got show at the end.
When to use it
A lively start to a lesson on animals or habitats. A vocabulary round for a language class, where every letter is a word to recall. A quick game for the last ten minutes of a Friday, played on the board with the whole class calling out answers.
What makes it this
Built on the A to Z quiz generator with these changed. Everything else is the default.
- Starts with, or contains
Hard letters like X, Y or Z rarely start a word. Switch a letter to Contains and its answer only has to have it somewhere.

- Countdown timer

- Show the answers to missed letters at the end
Off, a missed answer stays a secret. On, players see the answers to the letters they got wrong or never answered once the round ends.

Name an animal for every letter. Read the clue, type the animal, or pass and come back to the letter on the next lap. You have three minutes.
Why the example is built this way
-
The whole ring, as on the show
All twenty-six letters go round once, the way the Pasapalabra rosco is played. For a shorter lesson, copy it and keep ten letters: the strip in the builder does that in one tap.
-
Hard letters are "contains" letters
Few animals start with U or X, so those two are played the way the show plays them: the answer only has to contain the letter. A turtle for U, a fox for X.
-
Pass, then come back
A pupil who does not know the narwhal passes and meets N again on the next lap. Five minutes leaves room to think on every letter, and the answers to the missed letters appear at the end.
