Hangman with your own list
Put in the class register, the new starters or this week’s spelling words. The familiar game, with words that mean something to the room.
When to use it
The first week of term, while a class is still learning each other's names. A welcome session for a new intake or the first meeting of a club. This week's spelling words, played on the board with the whole room calling out letters.

Built on the Hangman generator with these changed. Everything else is the default.

Fourteen first names from a class that does not exist. Guess each one a letter at a time: ten wrong letters finish the drawing, and a letter you have already tried costs you nothing. Teachers — copy this activity and put your own register in the word list. That is the whole thing.

Why the example is built this way

Plain A to Z names, no hyphens.
A hyphen has to be guessed like a letter, and an accented letter isn't on the keyboard unless you turn on Special-character keys. Check your own list for both before you play.

Fourteen names, shuffled.
A register is alphabetical, so without Shuffle the word order everyone meets the same name first. More names than one sitting needs means a second go is a different set.

A school bus instead of a gallows.
Every picture under What gets drawn takes the same ten wrong letters, so choose one that suits the room. A class guessing each other's names doesn't need a gallows in front of them.
