Photo jigsaw
Any picture cut into pieces: organic shapes, a tray to sort them in, and pieces that stay together once they fit.
When to use it
The last lesson before a holiday, with a photo from the class trip. A wet break when the class needs something quiet to do on the tablets. A stand at an open day or a team event, where people assemble a picture of the venue while they wait.

Pieces that fit together lock and then travel as one, so it is worth building a corner in the tray before you carry it over.
Why the example is built this way

A busy picture, right to the edges.
Every piece has to be placeable from what's printed on it. A big flat sky gives players a dozen identical blue pieces; a scene with detail in every corner gives each piece something to match.

Five by five on a square picture.
A square grid on a square picture cuts square pieces, and twenty-five is what the tray around the board holds comfortably. A finer grid shrinks the pieces without giving the tray any more room.

No glowing spot where a piece fits.
Light up where a piece fits stays off. With the tray, the Faded picture behind the board and the Picture preview in a pop-up, a fourth aid makes the puzzle too easy too fast.
