Word of the day
Five letters, six guesses, a clue from the lesson, and a result they can share without spoiling it.
When to use it
The first five minutes of a lesson, one word to crack before anything else starts. A staffroom or team channel where people compare their grids. The end of a topic, with every word clued from what was just taught, so the clue is revision too.
What makes it this
Built on the Wordle generator with these changed. Everything else is the default.
- Let players share their result
Adds a share button that copies the coloured grid of their tries as emoji — the pattern, never the letters.
In the builder: How it plays
- Only accept real words
A guess that is not a word in the activity's language is rejected on the spot — and does not use up a try.

Five words from one recipe, one after another, six guesses each — and every word comes with a clue. After each guess the board says which of your letters are in the word and which are already in the right place. A guess that is not a real word is handed straight back and costs you nothing.

Why the example is built this way
-
Five words that follow one process, in order.
Words taken from one sequence read as one thing rather than five unrelated ones. Leave Shuffle the words off so the order survives.
-
Every word comes with a clue.
The clue is drawn beside the board only when With media is on for the word list. Without it, the clues you wrote are never seen.
-
Only real words count as guesses.
A guess that isn't a word is handed back and costs no try, so players can test a hunch about the letters. It also stops the cheapest way out, typing vowels in a row.
