Train a team Spot the difference

Workplace walk-round

The same bay at the start and the end of a shift. What changed? Add a note to each difference and it becomes a safety briefing.

When to use it

A toolbox talk at the start of a shift, before people walk the floor themselves. A new starter's first week, when they're learning what a tidy bay should look like. A refresher after a near miss, when naming what changed matters as much as spotting it.

What makes it this

Built on the Spot the difference generator with these changed. Everything else is the default.

  1. Say what changed

Once a difference is found, show the note you wrote for it. Off by default — a note under a ring tells the next player where to look.

Warehouse walk-round: what changed on the floor

The same warehouse bay at the start of a shift and at the end of it. Walk the picture the way you would walk the floor: click everything that is not the same, and each change is ringed on both pictures.

5 differences

Why the example is built this way

  1. Five differences, not more.

A warehouse bay holds fewer small, separate objects than a shop window. Ask the AI assistant for more changes than the scene can hold and they end up merged together or lost.

  2. A picture with no people and no lettering.

Choose a scene of separate, nameable objects with space around each one. Signs and labels are left unchanged, and people make the second picture harder to get right, so leave both out.

  3. You write the notes, and there are no hints.

Say what changed shows your note once a difference is found, so look at each pair of boxes and type the notes yourself. Keep Hints a player may use at none: a walk-round with hints isn't one.

Build it yourself

  1. 1 Open the Spot the difference builder and fill in the Pictures & differences tab.
  2. 2 Change the settings under What makes it this. Each one says where it is in the builder.
  3. 3 Share the link with your players, or embed the activity in your own site.

Or skip the building: copy this example and swap in your own content.
