Choose the number of tiles

The base of the board design consists of the number of tiles that you use. This determines the size of the tiles (since they scale), and the length of the route your players need to finish.

Set up your special tiles

The default board game already contains some special tiles to give you an idea, but you can change every tile you want to be whatever you want!

Special titles have a couple of configuration options:

• Question tile: get a random question for a bonus/penalty
• Background info: Tile that can give the players background info when they click on it or land on it.
• Step bonus: You move a couple of steps forward when you land here

Step penalty: You move a couple of steps backwards when you land here

Pick your board game pattern

To allow for more customisation, you can pick three different patterns which determine the way the 'road of tiles' displays on the board:

• Square: Move in a square-pattern, leaving space in the middle
• Winding road: Move in a curvy pattern downwards
• Snake: Move in a sort of snake-like pattern

The patterns adjust based on the aspect ratio of the screen, to use the available space on the board optimally.

Configure your dice

To determine the pace of your board game, you can select a number between 2 and 6 as the highest value, this way you can, for example when selecting '2', force players to land on a lot of squares instead of skipping them.

This could maximise educational exposure for instance!

Force finishing exactly on the final tile

Most board games have the feature that you have to exactly land on the final tile of the game. This board game maker supports this as well of course, causing funny 'bounce effects' when your dice value exceeds the number of remaining tiles.

Playing with the special tiles around the finish can give hilarious effects like going all the way back to 'start' when hitting a certain massive penalty tile!

Play multiplayer or test/play solo!

Board game makers create their games for multiplayer purposes in general and so does this one. But! Because you might want to test your own board game, or because you want to study some educational material just by playing your own board game, the option to play solo is also available.

Playing together is always more fun of course though!

Enable duel mode when landing on the same tile

Make your board game extra enticing by enabling 'duel mode' once players land on the same tile.

The duel mode will start a question race where the first player to answer correctly will win the duel and can move forward extra steps, while the losing player(s) move backwards.

This is a cool mechanic in the board game maker that will keep players engaged and a bit more competitive!

Choose your own background image

To make the board game feel even more like your own, add your own image to manage the theme via the board game maker.

The main image can be very useful in setting the scene for the types of questions and interactions, so definitely something to make custom!
