Classroom code hunt

Hide codes on cards around the room. Each code players find reveals a piece of a hidden picture, and a wrong code freezes the piece for a little while.

When to use it

A lesson that gets pupils out of their seats, with cards hidden around the classroom. A treasure hunt for a class party or the last day before a holiday. A round of stations at an open day, with one code at every table.

Classroom code hunt: who is in the picture?

Codes are hidden around the classroom. Find a card, type its code into the right piece, and see who is in the picture. A wrong code freezes the piece for a little while.

6 pieces

Why the example is built this way

  1. Each card carries one code.

Write a code on a card, hide the card, and put where to look in the piece's clue. In your copy, change the places to ones in your own room before you print the cards.

  2. Codes that are clues too.

Every code here is a word about the animal in the picture, so each card brings players closer to the reveal. Capitals and spaces don't matter when players type a code.

  3. One piece open from the start.

A piece left open is a free hint, so the board never starts blank. With Freeze a piece after wrong answers on, a wrong code shuts the piece for 30 seconds, so nobody guesses at the screen instead of searching the room.

Build it yourself
