Let them practise on their own Logic puzzle

Planets fact grid

Five planets, their place from the Sun, what they are known for and the god they are named after. Every row is true: what pupils know fills the grid, three clues help with the rest.

When to use it

Revising a topic at the end of a unit, when the facts should be there and the grid shows which ones are not. A science starter that the whole class can finish, whatever they remember. Homework that checks itself, with a next step for whoever gets stuck.

What makes it this

Built on the Logic puzzle generator with these changed. Everything else is the default.

  1. Clues: I write them

Your own sentences, shown to players exactly as you type them. The solver never reads a word of them, so nothing here is checked — if they do not add up to one answer, players are the ones who find out.

  2. Players can ask for the next step

The grid places the next mark it can prove and says why. Free and unlimited; the results count how many were taken.

Planets fact grid

Why the example is built this way

  1. Every row is a true fact.

The grid is checked against the pairs you place, so it only teaches if they are right. Check each row against a source. The AI assistant can write rows like these from a topic with Real facts switched on, and they still need that check before you share.

  2. Three clues, written in your own words.

With I write them under Clues, players see exactly the sentences you type. These three link a Roman god to a fact pupils are more likely to know, so nobody is stuck on the mythology column. Nothing checks your clues, so read them twice.

  3. Not knowing a fact is not the end.

With Players can ask for the next step on, a pupil who is stuck gets the grid's next mark placed for them, a pairing or a cross. They find out the fact instead of guessing, and carry on from there.

Build it yourself

  1. 1 Open the Logic puzzle builder and fill in the Story, items & grid tab.
  2. 2 Change the settings under What makes it this. Each one says where it is in the builder.
  3. 3 Share the link with your players, or embed the activity in your own site.
