Create an online matching game: cards of text, image or audio that players drag into place beside their match — or join with a line.

How this generator works

Make your first matching game

  1. Add your pairs

    • Cards on the same row belong together; players see them shuffled.
    • Type them in, or use Import a pair list.
  2. Mix words, pictures and sound

    • The small button in front of a card switches it between text, a picture and a sound.
    • A pair can mix them, like a word and its picture.
  3. Choose how players match

    • Above the pairs you pick one of three: drag answers into slots, draw lines between columns, or drag the cards into line.
    • A new game starts with slots.
  4. Play, then share

    • Play shows what players see.
    • Share has the link, the QR code and the print option.

Print as a worksheet

Prints the game the way players see it. The answer key shows every pair matched.

Share it online

One link or QR code opens the matching game in any browser, and students need no account. Embedding needs a paid plan.

Free to build, free to play. Build the matching game without an account and play it straight away. A free account saves it and covers 60 player sessions a month, with every activity type included.

What this maker can do

Did you mean to create a memory game? In memory the cards lie face down and players turn over two at a time to find a pair. Create it in the memory game maker, also here on Puzzel.org.
