Start from a picture Memory

Calm memory for little ones

Slow flips, no shake on a miss, and found pairs stay on the board. The same game with the pressure taken out.

When to use it

Nursery or reception, with a child on a tablet and an adult beside them. A quiet-corner activity for a pupil who is easily unsettled by alarms and shaking. A first go at memory for children still learning to hold two things in mind at once.

What makes it this

Built on the Memory generator with these changed. Everything else is the default.

  1. How long a wrong pair stays up

    In seconds.

In the builder: How it plays › Flips & matches

  2. Answer a wrong pair Off

The two cards get an amber outline and a small shake before they turn back, so a miss is felt once. Turn it off for a quiet turn-back.

In the garden: a gentle memory game

Turn over two cards and find the two that show the same picture. Nothing disappears and nothing is timed: a pair that does not match simply waits a few seconds and turns quietly back over.

6 pairs

Why the example is built this way

  1. Six pairs, each its own shape and colour.

Choose pictures a three-year-old can't mix up at card size: every one with its own silhouette and its own main colour, and nothing round and red twice.

  2. Six seconds before a wrong pair turns back.

Two seconds is a glance. Six is long enough to say both pictures out loud, and turning a third card ends the wait at once, so nobody is held up.

  3. A closing message, but no confetti.

Found pairs stay face up, so the board never empties and the end needs saying. Confetti stays off because a burst across the screen is the one thing left that might make a small player jump.

Build it yourself

  1. 1 Open the Memory builder and fill in the Pairs & cards tab.
  2. 2 Change the settings under What makes it this. Each one says where it is in the builder.
  3. 3 Share the link with your players, or embed the activity in your own site.

Or skip the building: copy this example and swap in your own content.
