Find out what they know Quiz

End-of-unit check

No ticks and no crosses while they answer. The score and its verdict come at the end.

When to use it

The last lesson of a unit, when you want to know what stuck before you move on. A mock before the real exam, sat at the class's own pace. A knowledge check at the end of a training course, where the result should arrive as a verdict rather than a running score.

What makes it this

Cells and transport: end-of-unit check

Ten questions on cells and how substances move in and out of them. Nothing is marked while you work and no answers are shown — pick one option per question, and your result comes at the end.

Why the example is built this way

  1. No time limit on an assessment.

When a question's time runs out it moves on unanswered and nothing is said. A check people sit at their own pace has no clock, so turn off Give every question a time limit.

  2. One point for the right answer, zero otherwise.

The total is then simply the number correct, so the outcomes can be written as marks out of ten. Set zero on every wrong option on purpose: one left alone scores the same as the answer.

  3. Outcomes that cover every score, with no overlap.

Four bands from nought to ten, each saying what to go back over. A score that falls in two bands shows two verdicts, and one that falls in none shows no verdict at all.
