Knockout quiz
One wrong answer ends the run and sends them back to question one. Nobody coasts, and everybody wants another go.
When to use it
The end of a unit, when you want to know who really knows it rather than who guessed well. The last round of a quiz night, where one slip is out. A safety or compliance topic where mostly right isn't good enough.
What makes it this
Built on the Quiz generator with these changed. Everything else is the default.
- Knockout: one wrong answer ends the run
The quiz stops at the first question a player gets wrong, or runs out of time on, and the right answer stays hidden. They start over from question one, as often as 'One attempt per player' allows, and every result records how many attempts it took.

Every player sees a question's answers in a different order, so 'it's B' from the next desk is no help. Answers are checked by what they say, not where they sit, so results are unaffected.

Twelve capital cities, easiest first. One wrong answer — or one clock that runs out — ends the run there, and you are not told what the answer was. Start again from question one as often as you like.

Why the example is built this way

Everyone clears the first three, so a knockout on question nine feels fair rather than random.

Four options have to be read before a wrong click ends the run, and running out of time counts as a miss.

A review would show every right answer, which is exactly what a knockout keeps back for the next try.
